Each elementary school in the district scored 956 or higher on the API, while La Canada High School scored 942, within the top 10 comprehensive general admission high schools in the state. About 98% of high school students enroll in post-secondary schools. The area also includes many private schools such as St. Francis High School,Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, and Flintridge Preparatory School.
Transportation: The area is accessed by State Route 2 and Interstate 210. It offers easy access to Pacific Coast Highway. The LCF Shuttle is a free shuttle that operates along Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge and is part of the Glendale Beeline Route 3.
Local Attractions: NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory is located in the area and as the primary United States research and development center for the robotic exploration of the solar system, including the creation of the Mars rover. Descanso Gardens is famed for its beautiful paths winding through elegantly landscaped botanic gardens and forests. It boasts the largest collection of camellia species in the U.S. and is famous for its carved pumpkin display at Halloween known as Rise of the Jack O’Lanterns.
